Fresno State Send Off- April 30. This event is for all seniors who have been conditionally admitted to Fresno State!
African American Recognition Ceremony
CalKIDS gives students who are low-income, homeless, foster, or migrant youth up to $1500 for free to use for college. Students will need their SSID to register, the SSID can be found on their ATLAS portal.
College Applications
Please begin all applications via CaliforniaColleges.edu to create an account, click “Register Account”
California State University
- Students must meet all A-G and GPA requirements (2.0+).
- Applications open October 1, 2023.
- Students who are eligible will be pulled out of class to complete application.
University of California
- Students must meet all A-G and GPA requirements (3.0+).
- Applications open October 1, 2023.
- Students who are eligible will be pulled out of class to complete application.
Community College
- All students are eligible.
- Students will complete all four steps of matriculation at school.
- Application opens September 1, 2023.
Financial Aid
Step 1: Create an FSAID
How to Create an FSA ID– This serves as login and digital signature for current and future FAFSA applications. Must be done by parent and student.
Step 2: Fill out FAFSA or Dream Act Application
2024-2025 FAFSA– Application opens in January 2024
DREAM Act Application– For students who are undocumented and unable to file a FAFSA application.
Step 3: Activate your California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) Account
Create CSAC Account– To be completed at least seven days after submitting FAFSA form. This is for financial aid from the state of California.
Step 4: Monitor email and mailbox to ensure you receive any communications sent by FAFSA or CSAC.

Bernard Harris Scholarship- For an African American student studying STEM: April 12
The Fresno Alphas – INL Education Foundation 2024 Scholarship: May 1
College Board Big Futures Scholarships, two $40,000, multiple $500: Ongoing
FastWeb Scholarship Database: Scholarships catered to each student
CSEA Scholarship- April 30
Central Valley Scholars: Multiple Scholarships by Category (Undocumented, LGBTQ, First-Generation, Student Parents, Disabled Students, etc.)
Military
Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB): Students must take this test to enlist in the military. The ASVAB test this spring will take place on March 6, 2024. Please contact Mylena Santana Bailey for more information at Mylena.Santana-Bailey@fresnounified.org

All Senior graduation orders will be done through Jostens. They will visit Hoover to give out order packets in the Fall. If you need more information or missed the presentation, please contact them directly at (559)275-2800 or ask your Counselor for a packet.
